(1) What UECo light do you like to use the most and why?

We love the Erddig wall light! Its modern and clean and can have so many applications from general sconce to picture light.

(2) Your six picks of favorite UECo lights?

 1. Beckett Double, 2. Erddig, 3. Huntley, 4. Langston, 5. Lucien, 6. The Double Arm Pendant

(3) What is your design philosophy?

Our passion resides in curating antiques with contemporary works. We think this clean yet soulful vernacular feels very relevant and livable today.

(4) What is something people many not know about your firm?

Its a family affair over here! While we're married, our sister also works for us running the business side.

(5) What is your favorite part of a home to design and why?

We love the beginning phase when we are putting the framework together on a house and working with architects on materials and finishes. It sets the tone for the project.

(6) Three design resources you can’t live without?

Urban Electric of course! We also use a ton of Holland and Sherry, Claremont and Jean de Merry for custom commissions.

(7) Best design tips you have learned from experience?

One is definitely take your time. Mistakes happen when you rush! Another big one is following your gut on what projects will further your creative vision and what won't be a good fit. I think when we first started, we took on a few projects where our vision and the client's weren't totally the same. With experience, we've learned that we can only take commissions where we and the client have a mutual vision or at least a shared passion from the get go. The client designer relationship is intimate, so you have to make sure it will work for the long haul!

(8) What do you collect?

Design books and photography.

(9) What are your favorite paint colors to use?

We try to use plaster whenever possible but our go to white is Pratt & Lambert China White. We don't typically use a ton of color on walls.

(10) What are your favorite design books?

We love all the books by Belgian publisher Beta Plus and well as the new Living With Light book by Axel Vervoordt. The Private World of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge is always inspiring as well.
